THERMAL RATED – DOORS & FRAMES
TASK is committed to green building and energy efficiency. Energy efficient solutions are designed to provide superior insulating capabilities and draft control to help conserve energy costs.
TASK’s polyurethane doors have a foamed-in-place core that provides exceptional thermal resistance as the foam fills every void in the door. Environmental friendly doors produced at TASK control heat or cold loss.
TASK Thermal doors have a temperature rise rating of 250°F, 450°F, and 650°F which indicates that this is the maximum rise in temperature above ambient on the non-fire side of the door during the first 30 minutes of a fire test.
Most of TASK Thermal doors have a temperature rise rating of 250°F which is the most stringent rating of the three. Having a temperature rise door means that in an event of a fire people can easily pass on the other side without suffering a lot of heat from the fire.
It is seen that paper ignites at 451°F, so if a door can restrict the rise in temperature on the non-fire side this can prevent the spread of fire to other rooms. TASK Thermal doors also have an insulation rating of 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. This means that for 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes the temperature on the other side of the door did not rise to more than 356°F.
